We believe humanity is a conversation.
It moves like water. Every story, every idea, every question, every work of art creates value — and that value flows from one of us to another, carrying us forward.
The web widened the current beyond anything we had known. It let creators and communities find one another, and it carried independent voices, thoughtful work, and living culture farther than ever before.
We are grateful for the platforms and tools that opened these waters. They gave creators places to publish, audiences places to gather, and value new ways to travel.
And travel it does. It flows across the network every day. We receive it in the work that moves us, teaches us, challenges us, and stays with us. Attention is the first signal of that value: our time, our focus, our trust.
We believe value is meant to travel both ways — to return to the people who set it in motion.
Support belongs with attention: what you receive returns to the creators who gave it to you, as naturally as water finds its level.
And because attention is alive, support moves with it. The voices we return to shift as we grow, and support moves the same way — always toward what moves us now.
When support flows back to the people who made it, the whole pool rises. Established voices gain room to go deeper. Rising voices gain momentum and trust. Audiences become part of the tide that keeps the culture alive.
We believe the future of the web is more connected, more human, and more generous — a living current where creators and communities lift one another, and where what we create finds its way home.
A note from the founder
I’m Tomer Marshall. I’ve founded three startups, hosted a podcast, and once ran a YouTube channel — back before channels were a thing. (Too early. It was a mistake.)
I’ve spent years as a creator, and more years working alongside creators. Tidepool is what I came to understand we’ve all been missing.
We’re still figuring parts of this out — how attention is counted, how the split works, what a fair fee looks like — and we’re doing it in the open, together with our founding creators. And honestly, I’d love to talk to creators. If you’d like to say hello, drop a line and let’s schedule a chat.
